Cheeky Son #1

What a manic week!!! What with hubby still away in the truck on harvest, running both boys around while they enjoy the last of the school holidays, working full time for the last 2 weeks, house guests and family luncheons.. .I haven't had much time to do anything except the bare necessities let alone any scrappin' time just for me.

This LO was created using this months Scrapville monthly pack. The 1st LO I did with this pack was of Cheeky Son #2 and, not to be left out, I thought I should follow up with a LO of Cheeky Son #1. Hard to see, but I masked the cloud areas and Glimmer Misted around them before mounting up the clouds. Add some hand stitching around the photo to bring it all into perspective and there you have it...one totally cheeky little boy.

Hope you enjoy,

Sneak Peek revealed...

On my very 1st post, I showed you a little Sneak Peek from my LO for the January Sketch Challenge at Scrapville and thought I had better finally show you all the real thing!

I usually scrap double LO's so I have included a pic of both pages together and separate pics of each page. I stepped out of my shell a bit on this one as I don't usually do any kind of doodling but the holly swirl border just worked in so well I had to give it a go, and I hadn't used my
i-Top brads on a LO until this one and I must say I LOVE it!
Once again I couldn't find any alphas that were just the right match for the LO so I used the good old 'paint-the-Thickers' technique and finished them off with 2 very generous coats of Dimensional Magic.
The candy cane heart was hand cut from one of the papers in the Echo Park - Little Boy range, covered lightly with glitter and finished off with...you guessed it...Dimensional Magic and tied it all together with some string.
This sketch is a great way to use multiple photos and I found it really fuss-free and easy to use.
The Scrapville sketches are posted to the blog on the 14th of each month so go check out the blog and see how you can be in the running for some scrappin' good prizes!

Hope you like the LO,

Cheeky Son #2

I couldn't have found better papers to use for this adorable photo of Cheeky Son #2! Oh how I wish they could stay so cute and cuddly instead of growing up into 6' Mega Teens and towering over their mother!

This LO was created using the Scrapville Monthly pack which proudly features the Little Boy range from Echo Park. This pack is jam packed (pardon the pun!) with all sorts of goodies and when you purchase the Monthly Pack you can also purchase the Booster Pack to add even MORE goodies to your creativity.

On this LO, I did some cutting, mounting, inking, stitching (the button centres) and loads more. I searched through my expansive stash of scrapping goodies and couldn't find the perfect alphas anywhere! I found a size and font that I thought would look good but, alas, it was HOT PINK GLITTER and I thought it might clash just a little bit. What I did come across in my searching was the perfect colour blue acrylic paint. So out came the paintbrush and after a thick coat of paint and a thin coat of Dimensional Magic...hey presto...matching alphas!!!
Who would have guessed that beneath the layers of masculinity there is a gorgeous, glittery layer of girliness!

Hope you like it,
